Join Carla Bentele of All About Me for a creative mini canvas painting drop-in, inspired by her fashion artwork and The Way You Speak To Yourself Matters.

Using Carla’s artwork and prints as inspiration – including Dress For The Energy You Want To Receive, Life Is A Catwalk and Always A Fashion Parade – you’ll create your own mini artwork, playing with colour, fashion and positive words that speak to you.

It’s a relaxed opportunity to get creative and make something that’s uniquely yours, whether you’re a confident painter or haven’t picked up a paintbrush in years.  Paint and mini canvas are provided!

Bring along your own collection of interesting bits and pieces – beads from broken jewellery, buttons or trinkets – and learn how to bring them together to create a necklace that’s completely unique to you.

Hopetown and Hunter will guide you through the process, helping you experiment with colour, texture, composition and unexpected combinations to turn preloved and discarded objects into something fabulous.  A quirky selection of secondhand objects and beads will also be available to purchase on the day if you’d like to add something extra to your creation.

All the essential fixings are included in the workshop price, including wire, clasps and crimps.

Unwind, connect, and discover the art of mindful mending! Join Lila-Rose Upcycle for a relaxing workshop introducing Sashiko – the traditional Japanese art of functional embroidery and mending.  Learn how to use delicate, repetitive stitching to give your favourite garments a stunning second life.

Workshop Details:

• What you’ll learn: Traditional Sashiko mending techniques to repair, reinforce, and refresh your clothes.
• What to bring: Bring along a loved garment from home that needs a little TLC or we will provide swatches of material to stitch.

Join Kit Giroux from The Great British Sewing Bee for a creative, hands-on workshop and learn how to turn a favourite piece of fabric into your very own make-up bag!

Bring along your favourite material – perhaps an old curtain, a discarded fabric shopping bag or simply a piece of fabric you’ve been saving for the right project.  Kit will guide you through transforming it into a stylish and practical make-up bag.

Along the way, you’ll learn some brilliant sewing skills, including sewing seams, constructing a 3D object and inserting a zip – which will be provided for you.

It’s a great opportunity to build your sewing confidence, learn new techniques and discover how materials you already have can be transformed into something completely new.  You’ll need a basic understanding of how to use a sewing machine.

Give Your Shoes a Little Shine! Join Amey’s Shiney Things and discover how to transform a pair of shoes using metallic leaf.

Got a pair of shoes that could do with a new lease of life? Bring them along and make them shine! Ann-Marie will guide you through the process of applying metallic leaf, helping you turn an old, tired or simply forgotten pair of shoes into something unique, playful and completely your own.

Bring your shoes – and leave with something shiny, fabulous and ready to wear!

Slow Stitch Club will give you the darning skills you need to breathe new life into your clothes through the art of visible mending.  Darning is a traditional mending technique used to create small woven patches to cover and repair damaged knit clothing.

In this workshop we will look at the equipment you need to start darning and cover tips and tricks to help along the way. Skye will run through the most popular darning methods such as plain weave darns and honeycomb darns which we’ll test out on sample fabrics before moving on to repairing your favourite knits.  This workshop is suitable for beginners and sewing enthusiasts alike.

All materials are provided: just bring your own item of clothing to mend or decorate; darning can be applied to woven items but works best on knitwear. Skye will have a selection of yarns and colours but if you think you’ll need a very specific yarn or colour match then please bring this with you.  It is recommended that you bring an item that has a small area to repair to start with or something that you are happy to practise on.

Make Your Own Upcycled Pencil Case!

Join Oscar Munro for a relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop and turn waste materials into your very own pencil case!

Oscar will bring along a selection of waste and reclaimed materials for you to choose from. You’ll select your favourites and, with Oscar’s guidance, cut, sew and construct your own unique pencil case to take home with you.

This is a brilliant introduction to sewing and a chance to discover just how much potential there is in materials we might usually overlook or throw away.  Whether you have a little sewing experience or are just getting started, Oscar will guide you through the process in a relaxed, rewarding and supportive workshop.  A basic knowledge of sewing machines is preferred.
